Set against the clean lines of Kvadrat’s New York showroom, the installation adds softness and color with oversized, pillow-like forms.
For Kvadrat Febrik, we created Myr and Mylla - a pair of knitted textiles crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. Drawing inspiration from the organic irregularities of wetlands and humus, the fabrics embody a beautifully imperfect texture, layered with natural nuance and depth.
Unveiled during NYCxDesign 2025, the launch installation - also curated by us - transformed Kvadrat’s New York showroom with oversized, beanbag - like forms upholstered in the new fabrics. Contrasting piping, bold zippers, and dynamic colourways highlighted the textiles’ expressive potential, inviting visitors to touch, move, and lounge. As the soft sculptures shifted shape and position each day, the space itself transformed, becoming a living, breathing environment. Photographed across New York’s urban landscape, the cushions extended the collection’s themes of contrast and materiality beyond the gallery walls. Myr and Mylla reflect our spatial approach to textile design, merging visual richness with functionality, while sustainability is woven into every thread of innovation.
