Ondarreta at Salone del Mobile Milano 2023

Inspired by the easy assembly and dismantling of tents, for Ondarreta’s stand at Salone del Mobile we set out to imagine a temporary, reusable structure with an inclusive, familiar atmosphere. Only a few components make up the architecture yet it offers multiple functions: a backdrop, a supporting structure, a meeting point, and a gallery for display.

Aside from the exhibited products — including the Supra family also designed by Note — the clamping device plays a starring role. Bringing complexity to what could be seen as a back-to-basics solution, the clamp becomes the playful narrator of the stand and opens up the possibilities for future iterations. A series of dynamic fabric waves are rendered by the hanging system, creating a three-dimensional effect that frames the installation and offers varying compositions.
